Children and Families

At St Andrew’s Church, we aim to create a safe and enjoyable setting for all children and young people. This page shows some of the groups and events for children and families at St. Andrew’s.

  • We are trying to continue to provide activities during this time of social distancing.
  • We have lots of information about resources for Worshipping at Home on our website, it can be found on the home page. This page includes videos to watch, print outs to use at home and ideas for the whole family to worship together.
  • Sarah is hosting a Zoom on Wednesday evenings for New Gen at 7:30pm and a bible teaching session on Sundays at 4pm. Contact Sarah for details, [email protected]
  • Hanna is creating YouTube sessions for the Voyagers which can be found on the new….

BELOW ARE OUR USUAL EVENTS WHICH HAVE PAUSED BUT WILL RESUME WHEN IT IS POSSIBLE.

Messy Church

Taking place on Sunday evenings, 4.45 – 6pm, 3rd Sunday, Winter Hall.
Messy Church is our relaxed, informal cafe-style service, especially for families. Start with a cup of tea, join in our messy activity (baking, painting, modelling), listen to stories, sing some songs and then tuck into a delicious tea!

Church Lite

We would love to welcome you to Church Lite! Every second Sunday, not August or November. You will find:

  • A warm welcome and a cup of good coffee
  • Fun activities for all the family
  • Plain speaking, we aim for no ‘church jargon’!
  • Songs, some old and new, join in or just listen as you wish
  • Peace and stillness, but we don’t mind it being interrupted by children being children.
  • Delicious homemade cake as we finish at 11 am.

Little Pickles Toddler Group

Taking place on Monday mornings, 9.45 – 11.15 am, term time, Church Halls.
It is a chance for parents and carers to bring their pre-school children to learn to play and mix with other children.
The group also provides a space for new mothers to meet and socialise with other members. Games, toys and other activities are widely used. Members of the church are available to talk, offer a cup of tea and to provide help and support when needed.

Voyagers

Taking place on Sunday mornings, 10 –11.15am, Church Halls for years R – 4.
Voyagers meet together on Sunday mornings for worship and to learn more about God. We do this in an informal environment and enjoy a variety of activities including games, drama, craft and nibbles!

For further details on any of these groups telephone our Parish Office on 01892-837617 or email our Children and Families Worker, Hanna Rosser.  [email protected]
